Richard's opening speech in Richard III

The war is over and Richard begins by describing the atmosphere at the present time compared to when the war was going on. He describes it as joyous and uplifting but a more dampened mood was used to portray the time of the war. Richard looks down upon himself as he explains how how his deformity affects him and adds that his life will take more of a villanous turn with his love life being omitted. He then speaks about the first stage of his awful plan. This begins with getting rid of his brother Clarence.
